Internet marketing for the average Joe or Jane. Before we get into the world of IM we first must know what it is?
It is a way to market your services, and or products via the Internet. It doesnt take much of a genius to figure that out.
It is actually harder now days to profit or make any serious money due to the millions of online folks who have been scammed or outright ripped-off.
In the early days of the Internet it was actually easy to Market your stuff online, you could setup a blog, website and promote ClickBank products or your own product or service. Lots of folks started a Google AdWords campaign or other PPC networks. The Google slap was non-existent and they would allow affiliate links.
Many folks made good money. But many marketers got slapped so hard they have shied away from doing anymore campaigns. So, what is the average Joe do to get his Internet Marketing off the ground again?
The average Joe can do Internet marketing and become successful if they follow a few simple rules. Here are mine.
- Use social media sites to get backlinks and others to follow you. Or at the very least have them interested in your products. Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, HubPages and Squidoo come to mind. Join them ask…questions, post comments, and do your best to give good high impact content.
- Use good old fashioned SEO tactics for better search engine results. Most top “Internet Marketers” still use SEO to further enhance their “Brand Awareness”. SEO is organic traffic and can be learned by almost any Joe or Jane. I am a notoriously slow learner…so If I can do it so can you.
- Market products that truly work for you and others. If they worked for you it stands to reason others will have the same results.
- The Internet Marketing world is constantly changing. If you dont change with it your business or your marketing interests will die.
- The average Joe Marketer is always looking for free or cheap promotion and or advertising. This is dangerous…sometimes you have to research legitimate folks who can help you become a serious Internet Marketer.
- Article marketing is still a very viable way to market. Thousands of folks are making a good living just by writing articles and submitting them to article directories.
- Offline businesses can make extra money using the Internet. There are millions of resources to help the average offline person succeed with their dreams and aspirations.
- Automation programs come and go. Once Google finds them they feverishly look for ways to keep them at bay. Most do work at first but eventually they are left floating in cyber space like trash waiting for dump trucks to haul them away.
- Many Internet Marketing programs and or opportunities are scams. It is best to research any and all such programs before continuing your Internet Marketing venture.
